2. In short
- This site sets no cookies and does not use local storage for tracking.
- Fonts, images and scripts are served from this site’s own server — no requests to Google Fonts, social networks or ad networks.
- No analytics or tracking tools are used.
- Personal data is never sold or used for advertising.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by [Hosting provider — company name and address]. When you open a page, the server automatically processes technical data your browser sends: IP address, date and time of the request, requested page, referring page, and browser/operating-system information. This is necessary to deliver the website and to keep it secure and stable. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating a secure website). Log data is kept only as long as needed for these purposes.
4. Contacting me
If you write to me by email or through the contact form, I process the details you provide (name, email address, organisation if given, and your message) to answer your inquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your inquiry relates to a potential engagement, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The data is deleted once your inquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
The contact form does not transmit data to any server: it opens your own email program with your message prefilled, and you decide whether to send it.
The contact form contains an invisible anti-spam field and a timing check. Neither stores data or uses cookies.
5. External links
Links to external services (such as GitHub, ORCID or PyPI) are plain links. No data is transmitted to these services until you click one; after that, their own privacy policies apply.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data concerning you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR),
- lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
To exercise these rights, contact me at kahala_patrick [at] icloud.com.
